Abstract
In the discussion of impact on composite structures, increasing the stiffness of structural procedures is one of the most important strategies which is taken to increase the impact resistance of composite structures. In this study, the effect of corrugated core on low velocity impact response of sandwich panels with smart face sheets and layer-wise graded foam core was investigated. In this research, foam cores with different densities are stacked up and an aluminum corrugated core are the two different character of core and graphite / epoxy which are reinforced by memory alloy wires (SMA) are considered as face-sheets. Sandwich structures with different configurations were subjected to low-velocity impact and the results showed that the addition of corrugated core increased the impact resistance of the structure and increased the contact force of the impact.
