Abstract
Pyridlhydrazone derivatives [1-5] were synthesized for the first time by condensation of di-2- pyridyl ketone with different hydrazides individually. The corresponding solid phase hydrazidehydrazones were collected from acidic-ethanolic medium after 8-10 hours of reflux in very good to excellent yields and purified twice by ethanol/water re-crystallization process. All the synthesized compounds are characterized by IR, 1H and 13C NMR, FAB-MS and other physical analyses tests. The microbiological antifungal activity was carried out toward Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Microsporum canis and Trichophyton rubrum.
