Abstract
The methanolic extract of Forsskalea tenacissima was subjected to vacuum liquid chromatography (VLC). The ethyl acetate fraction was found to be most promising against Candida albicans, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Allescheria boydii, Microsporum canis, Aspergillus niger, Drechslera rostrata, Nigrospora oryzae, Stachybotrys atra, Curvularia lunata, Trichophyton semii and Trichophyton schoenleinii. Phytochemical studies resulted in the isolation of six known compounds, for the first time from this plant.
