A LAYOUT PLANNING BY USING CLOSENESS RATINGS PROCEDURE AND WORK SAMPLING METHOD IN APPAREL INDUSTRY

Nowadays, apparel firms apply different methods in order to inspect their productivity and production number. At the head of these methods work study is taken place. One of the most fastest and accurate method of work study is work sampling. However accurate study of work sampling depends on doing specific statistical procedures accurately. In this study, a software which is called as “Work Sampling” is developed in order to apply work sampling method easily. With the assistant of this software, effects of reorganization of layout planning to productivity are investigated in an apparel firm. As a result of reorganization of layout application which is done by “Closeness Ratings” procedure, an increment which belongs to productivity values of sewing department is observed.
