Abstract
Editorial: Diagnosis-related Groups (DRG) is an internationally recognized advanced hospital management method. It was pioneered by Yale University in the late 1960s and has been used as the inpatient prospective payment system by the U.S. Medicare program since 1983 (1,2). It has since been introduced in Australia, Germany, France, the UK, Japan, South Korea, and Scandinavia.
