Abstract
This article analyzes the earliest Muslim philosophers’ reception and conception of history of philosophy and its relation to prophetic traditions. Focusing on the earliest works of Muslim authors on the beginning of philosophy in Greek antiquity and its journey to early Islamic times and lands, the article examines the inner formative forces that caused Muslim thinkers to become interested in Greek philosophy and its leading historical personalities.
