Development of Scholarship Journals among the Malays

This paper is a bird eye view on the development of Malay scholarship in Malay studies. Concordance to its brief, preliminary study, sources of this survey are acquired from journals, newspapers, magazines, list of various books, articles and thesis related to Malay studies. This paper postulates the Malay scholarship evolved out from at least in four major aspects. First, growth of various institutions related to Malay education. Second, discourse in various conferences, both at national and international levels. Third, research. Fourth, publication of various scientifi c literature. The purpose of this survey is to convey a brief idea on the development of Malay scholarship in the fi eld of Malay studies.
