Abstract
Emissions from clinical waste incineration process are of important concern due to the hazardous compounds such as dioxin, hydrochloric acid (HC1), nitrogen dioxide (NOx) and sulfur dioxide (SOx) being release to atmosphere. Emissions from clinical waste incinerator plants in Malaysia are required to comply with emission limits imposed by Department of Environment (DOE). This paper describes the emissions from clinical waste incinerator plants and emission standard prescribed in Malaysia. It also discusses control technologies and their performance in treating emissions. A case study on the testing of emission performance for one clinical waste incineration plant in Malaysia is also presented
