GENERAL SITUATION OF MINE INDUSTRY IN TURKEY THROUGH THE BEGINNING OF THE REPUBLIC AND ATATURK’S IDEAS ABOUT MINING

In this study, the general situation of mining in Turkey in the early years of Turkısh Republic and the ideas of Ataturk about mining were explained.During the Ottoman period, mining regulations, especially in the late of 19th century, were declared to organise the mining issues. However, it did not make any positive contributions to the development of the mining in the country. The issue was left to the Republic period with many wrong and incomplete applications.Wıth the declaration of the Republic, the mining activities were reorganised with many laws and regulations considering the incomplete applications of the Ottoman State. Ataturk, who targeted the development of the state with domestic sources, gave great importance to the mining issue. In the light of his thoughts, the mining sector was highly developed.
