An Indepth Insight into Child Abuse and its Impacton Personality of Victims

This paper highlights the issue of child abuse and its existence inPakistan, alongside critically analyzing the causes and effects of it.Firstly, child abuse and its types- physical, sexual, emotional andneglect are explained in detail. The prevalence of child abuse inPakistan is discussed with the help of latest statistics available fromchild welfare and protection NGOs such as Sahil. Then, a criticalanalysis is carried out which examines the causes and effects of childabuse, explaining the impact of child abuse on the individual as wellas society. Finally, the paper proposes a set of recommendations todeal with the menace of child abuse in Pakistan. The recommendationsentail treatment techniques as well as prevention measures, which ifadapted, can help the country in overcoming the grave issue of childabuse, thereby providing the children with a safe and secureenvironment to grow and develop.
