  • Abstract
Calciphylaxis is an uncommon and poorly understood cutaneous phenomenon associated with chronic renal failure (CRF). The cardinal features are cutaneous purpura and necrosis as well as histopathologic findings of calcifications of cutaneous vessel walls. There is significant morbidity from this disease, which is mainly caused by overwhelming sepsis
