  • Abstract
This paper deals with % E (235U enrichment percentage) verification of ore samples using the γ-lines 185.7 keV of 235U. The %E using γ-transitions of 143, 163 and 205 keV of 235U to 1001.03 keV of 238U were also investigated. The experimental work was carried out by nondestructive Compton suppression technique (CSS). The system is based on primary detector (HPGe) and guard detector (NaI) crystal in axial annuls with 6 photomultiplier tubes in addition to NaI plug detector. A simple equation was also used to calculate the 235U abundance (enrichment percentages % E) in the investigated ore samples. The results show that the uranium 235U abundance are natural and lie in the range from 0.672% to 0.776%. The results are depicted, presented, discussed and compared with the standard mean value of natural uranium samples.
