  • Abstract
The fact that more than one type of dialysis modality exists, specifically peritoneal (PD) and hemodialysis (HD), is in itself, a cause for celebration. It should be seen as increasing options for patients who are already considerably disadvantaged in life, providing choice to support differing lifestyles as well as potentially enabling longer periods of renal replacement, especially when used sequentially and collaboratively.
