Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine employers’ opinion and suggestions on the employment of individuals with special needs. This descriptive study was conducted with 12 employers who hired individuals with special needs in Çorum. Data were collected through semi structured interviews with pre-prepared interview forms and this data was analyzed by qualitative data analysis. Employers stated that taking responsibility, using technology, being adaptive, cooperative, communicative, having academic, safety and working skills are important for the employment of individuals with special needs. Additionally, the necessity of improving work and work place experience and preparation for the work were also stated by the employers. Employers recommended that individuals with special needs should receive part of their education in the workplace. They proposed that work description should be done and individuals with special needs should receive education according to their work description. It is suggested that schools should put emphasis to inform the community, family and individuals with special needs about both thev ocations and vocational education
