EVALUATION OF ACADEMIC ASPECTS RELATING TO EXISTING PROBLEMS AT TURKISH SPORTS MANAGEMENT

This research was aimed to determine views of academic staff who are in charge of Physical Education and Sports Departments of Universities in Ankara, regarding the existing problems and their opinions for the issues in Turkish Sports Management. Sampling of the research was carried out by the participation of 70 randomly selected academic staff comprising of professors, assistant professors, and instructors. A 40 clause survey form, which was prepared by the researchers to identify the existing problems in Turkish Sports Management, was used. Alpha coefficient of consistent calculated for reliability of the survey was found as .91. Kolmogorov-Simirnov test was used to check the normal distribution of data obtained. One Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) method was used for the analysis of age, seniority, and titles of the academic staff. As a result, academicians are of the opinion that state schools and local authorities have considerably poor participation to sports in terms of facilities and equipment, lack of resources and tools to generalize sports, deficiency in coordination and inadequate employement in sports.
