Abstract
The aim of this study is to determine the physiological and biomotor features and investigatethe age-group differences of youth soccer athletes aged 8-14 who play in Ankara district. 174 young soccer players, aged 8-14 who play in soccer clubs, participated in the research voluntarily. The athletes were tested for sprint (5-10-20-30, meters, photocell supplied), flexibility, push-ups, sit-ups, standing long jump, weightball throw and endurance tests (1 mil). The results were analyzed statistically with One Way Anova. Statistically significant differences were found in all tests (p 0.05) except for the push-up and flexibility tests. At the end of the study, it was observed that physical and physiological characteristics increase by age. Strength, endurance and speed were also age dependent, higher values were observed with increasing age. Our results suggest that by determining the soccer players physical and physiological features through periodic tests and applying age-appropriate training methods, we can observe an improvement in players’ developments.
