  • Abstract
    During the admiration period of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), Indonesia-Malaysia relationship became worse due to certain issue. Basically, there are three important issues affected relationship between Indonesia-Malaysia: political issue (Ambalat issue), social issue (Indonesian migrant worker—TKI), and cultural issue (Pendet Dance). The question rise up in Indonesia-Malaysia relationship caused by the response and the sensitively from Indonesian which affected by the media framing, included television media. Especially, this research also proposed to identify how the framing created and identify the media television framing. This thesis will separate to the framing analysis model to get the theory and the new empirical knowledge in media television framing environment. This research use framing analysis “Television News” model developed from model Gamson and Mogdiliani (1989) and use the inductive qualitative analysis process developed from model Van Gorp (2005/2010). The model refers to the identification method in verbal framing and nonverbal framing with the matrix method. The researcher do the in-depth interview on 12 peoples, which separated to 4 peoples from Metro TV and 4 peoples from TV One and 4 peoples from TVRI. There are 1 reporter, 1 cameraman, 1 producer and 1 redaction leader involved in this in-depth interview.This in-depth interview proposed to know ‘how’ and ‘why’ the verbal and nonverbal framing done by the framing actors. Triangulation is the process between framing analysis “Television News” model, in-depth interview and the observation shows that the basic ideology such as nationalism from the media owner affect the media framing regarding Malaysia related issues
