Abstract
During the formation of a tooth, the tooth bud may be disturbed so that any or all of the components of the tooth are affected. This situation may affect these cells until the tooth is calcified. There may bevariations in number, size, shape, position, eruption and structure. Fusion is a developmental anomaly of the dental hard tissue which effects shape of the teeth. It is defined as the joining of two developing tooth germs resulting in a single enlarged tooth. Accessory roots are most commonly seen in mandibular canines, maxillary premolars and molars. They are rarely found in maxillary anterior teeth and mandibular incisors.
