Abstract
Uprighting of a mesially tipped lower first molar of a 7 year and 9 month girl is presented in this case report. There was a lower dental arch crowding of 3 mm due to tilting of the lower right first permanent molar toward the space of an early extracted second deciduous molar. Firstly, it was planned uprighting the right mandibular first permanent molar. First permanent molar was uprighted by means of open Ni-Ti coil springs. To obtain anchorage during uprighting lower right first permanent molar, a lower right first deciduous molar teeth was used as anchor teeth. Uprighting lower right first permanent molar and space gaining procedure was applied approximately 4 months. This case presentation demonstrates that lower right first permanent molar by open Ni-Ti coil springs without any loss of anchorage in primary teeth was successfully uprighted in early mixed dentition stage.
