Abstract
A series of 16 diiminophosphorane nickel(II) complexes was synthesized and used as catalyst precursors for dimerization reactions of propene. The nickel complexes were activated with methylalumoxane (MAO) and various phosphine additives. The influence of the ligand frameworks, the phosphine additives and the temperature was studied. Activities of 1 200 [kg oligomers/ mol catalyst * h] and a selectivity of 76% for 2,3-dimethylbutene were achieved.
