Abstract
We read with great interest the research article by Uzel et al. (1) published in March issue of The Anatolian Journal of Cardiology 2014;14 : 134-9. about diagnostic accuracy of mean platelet volume (MPV) in prediction of clopidogrel resistance in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). They investigated the relationship between MPV levels and clopidogrel non-responsiveness in 185 patients who had been on clopidogrel therapy for any ACS. They found that MPV was significantly higher in non-responders and they suggested that MPV can be used as an indicator of clopidogrel resistance in patients with ACS. We would like to comment about this study.
