Non-Pharmacological Methods at Pain Management

Since pain affects individual physically, psychologically and in social aspects, it is important to control it. Pain control is important forindividual relief, increase of life quality, reduce of complications and shorten of the duration of hospitalization. Today, non-pharmacological methods are also used when pharmacological techniques are not available or in order to increase effect of pharmacological techniques. The purpose of using the non-pharmacological methods is to decrease the usage rate of analgesics and to improve the quality of life by relieving pain.. In this article, the effect of non-pharmacological methods at pain control, and at which conditions and how they could be used are considered in accordance to the relevant literature.
