  • Abstract
In present work, jute fibre reinforced epoxy composites were prepared by hand lay-up technique followed by static compression using varying weight percentages (10, 20, 30 and 40) of jute fibres. The prepared jute composites were subjected to study its dynamic mechanical properties in terms of storage modulus ( E ), loss modulus ( E ), damping ( Tanժ ) and glass transition temperature (Tg) at different frequencies i.e. 1, 2, 5 and 10 Hz. The results indicated that thermal stability and load bearing capacity was found to improve with increase in fibres loading in the composites. In addition to this, it was also observed that variation in frequencies had a significant effect on dynamic mechanical properties of jute composites. The acceptable dynamic mechanical properties of present jute composite indicate that it can be used in making the casing of electronics instruments such mobiles, laptops etc. apart from its traditional applications such as packaging and constructions.
