Long Lasting Businesses in Turkey: Who are they? Where are they? Which industries are they in?

This study aims to list the long-lasting businesses in Turkey. In the scope of the research, primarily,a draft list was prepared, based on information obtained from academic sources. Following thisphase, new data were gathered from internet search engines throughout various stages. In the finalphase of the research, 289 long-lasting businesses founded in between 1777-1928 were revealed.Many of these businesses were found to be operating in the food industry and were located in theprovince of Istanbul. A significant increase in the number of businesses after the 1900s was alsoobserved. This study aims to provide a reference source for further business history research withthe list of the revealed long-lasting businesses presented in this paper.
