Abstract
The formation of social structures and networks in a country and their development are undoubtedly made with the contributions of religious communities and groups. Religious groups play an important role in protecting society’s belief structure and life from foreign influences. The Islamic world contains a large number of independent national states spreading over a wide geography. Islamic countries have adopted or developed different state systems and forms of government according to their political and historical accumulation and experience. By the 1970s, almost all of the contemporary Islamic movements born in the Arab world prioritized Islam as a political ideology covering the whole of social life, based on the political understanding of society. From this point of view, the article deals with Islamic Movements in Morocco. In the introduction section, the reasons for and development of Islamic movements within the framework of modernism and modernity concepts are examined. In the first section, the position of Islamic movements in Morocco in the context of religious state relations is explained. In the second section, Islamic movements are given a general overview, and in the last section, the most prominent Islamic movements are introduced.
