  • Abstract
The new borders, emerged by the effects of the Balkans Wars and First World War as well as the independence movements in Balkans in 19th century created demographic problems for the Balkans states, which aimed to transform into nation-state. Exchange of populations appeared one of the main alternatives for those states, which tried to solve that problem by using the methods of wars, assimilation policies and deportation. This article, which aims to analyze the exchange of populations in the examples of Turkey, Greece and Bulgaria examines the interaction processes between the population exchanges of Bulgarian-Greek in 1919 and Turkish-Greek in 1923.
