THE POSSIBILITY OF DEMOCRACY IN SYRIA WITH SWOT ANALYSIS TECHNIQUE

Analyzing briefly the context of democracy which seen as an important factor for solution of Syrian crisis and permanent peace in the country this study examines how a democracy model can be possible in Syria in the context of SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis. Dealing with the factors leading to conflicts among Syrian societies and approaches of government and the opposition groups, the study researches the opportunity areas for all different ethnic, religious and sectarian groups to live in a peaceful co-existence within the framework of territorial integrity of Syria. Taking into account the social structure and political features of Syrian community which appears to be multi-layer image, our study examines the strengths and weaknesses of Syria in respect of democracy and reveals the opportunities and threats in this context.
