  • Abstract
    Since 2009, Bitcoin has gained tremendous value and has become widespread. In this process, questions such as money, commodity, some kind of collateral about Bitcoin have come into question and different qualifications have been made. Currently there isn’t a single definition/description or qualification adop-ted for Bitcoin worldwide. As such, the qualification of contracts in which one of the parties owes to transfer the ownership of a good and the other party to pay with Bitcoin may differ. Because in sales contracts, the price is considered to be some money. Therefore, revealing whether Bitcoin is in the form of money is important in terms of determining the quality of the contract. With this study, it is aimed to search for a solution to this issue. In this context, firstly, the charge element of the sales contract is discussed after general explanations. Then, what Bitcoin is explained in detail. Finally, the study is completed by writing the analysis on the matter and the conclusion.
