A new time-optimal strategy for column startup and product changeover

A new time-optimal strategy for column startup and product changeover is developed and investigated. The object of these investigations is to minimize the time necessary from initial startup or product changeover until steady state operation is attained. It is shown that the time needed can be clearly reduced with the help of this new strategy. Theoretical studies support the experimental findings. It is found that the simulation results agree closely with those obtained experimentally.
