Observations on the experimental determination of mass attenuation coefficients

This article addresses certain aspects of planning, performing, analyzing and reporting experiments designed to determine mass attenuation coefficients. The aim is to encourage experimentalists to add value from the user’s perspective. For illustrative purposes two recent papers from this journal are taken as examples.
