Numerical evaluation of thermal comfort in rooms with dynamic insulation

The thermal environment in a room with dynamic insulation was evaluated using CFD. It was shown that a properly designed dynamically-insulated room could provide thermal comfort with energy savings and this would require that the room be air-tight and provided with controllable heat input. However, dynamically-insulated rooms might pose problems of local thermal discomfort when the interior surface temperature is well below the room air temperature.
