Abstract
Nowadays, as construction projects become complicated, many factors are reported to affect labor productivity. When the project needs to be accelerated or compressed, the overmanning method, which increases the number of labor crews, could be used. At this time, the labor productivity can be negatively impacted because overmanning usually causes problems such as dilution of supervision, site congestion, and poor supply chain. This paper reviews relevant literature and provides a quantitative relationship between overmanning and labor productivity through hypothesis testing and logistic regression. The results of this paper are of value to owners, electrical and mechanical contractors, and construction managers.
