Abstract
The results of experimental studies have been presented for the evaporation of saturated liquid films of isopropanol, methanol, water, inside a vertical tube. For high heat fluxes (up to 3.1×104 W/m2) where nucleate boiling is developed, the Nusselt number was successfully correlated with the boiling and Kapitza numbers. As confirmed experimentally, below certain values of these dimensionless groups the heat transfer coefficients can be calculated from Chun and Seban correlations obtained for convective heat flow.
