Abstract
The use of (Ta1/2Cu1/2)Sr2GdCu2O8−δ as a cathode caterial for lithium non-aqueous batteries based on a LiAsF6 in propylene carbonate electrolyte is described. Results are presented for the discharge–charge characteristics on cycling. The cell behaviour is discussed in terms of the lithium intercalation process. The effect of chemically prelithiating the materials by a chemical process has been investigated.
