Role of bridging ligand in tuning metal-metal Literaction in mixed valence complexes

Optical intervalence electron depends both on the nature of the donor/acceptor and on the bridging ligand which joins donor and acceptor sites. The ability to control electronic and magnetic interactions between metal centers with the change in conjugation, conformation and length of BL is of fundamental importance in inorganic and material chemistry. In this article, we review recent reports on the effect of different parameters on intramolecular electron transfer at room temperature of Class II type mixed valence system.
