  • Abstract
    The mechanical properties of porous materials are strongly in¯uenced by the stress concentration around pores. In view of this, stress ®elds around a spheroidal pore is studied under dynamic loading conditions. A hybrid method that combines the ®nite element method with an analytical approach has been used. It is shown that the dynamic stress concentration is in¯uenced by three parameters: frequency of excitation, geometry of the pore and Poissonʹs ratio of the medium. It is also shown that the dynamic stress concentration can reach much higher values than that predicted by static analysis.
