Abstract
Tilting-pad journal bearings with multiple ori®ces hybrid lubrication are analysed by means of a thermohydrodynamic
theory. Adiabatic boundary conditions are adopted, and a bidimensional model is used to represent the ¯uid ¯ow
behavior in the bearing gap. The in¯uence of operational conditions on the temperature distribution, when dierent
bore arrangements in the pads are used, is discussed and compared to the theoretical values coming from the conventional
hydrodynamic case (without radial oil injection).
