Locus of control as a moderator of the selfreported performance feedback-personal sacrifice relationship

Commitment and Internal-External locus of control measures were given to 200 randomly selected employees of a Veterans Administration Medical Center 4 weeks before the formal performance appraisal (Time l, N = 110). Commitment and self-reported performance appraisal ratings were collected 4 weeks after the performance appraisal (Time 2, N = 90). The results of hierarchical multiple regression analyses showed locus of control as a moderator of the relationship between self-reported performance feedback and personal sacrifice. Externalʹs personal sacrifice was significantly affected by self-reported performance feedback, whereas internalsʹ was not.
