A reasonable extension of the alpha-alpha correlation technique

A reasonable extension of the correlation technique applied to identify heavy nuclides is proposed. A simple test with a 212Bi (6.06, 8.78 MeV) alpha decay source demonstrates a possibility to detect conversion electrons with a low pressure (1.3–4.0 hPa) multiwire proportional chamber together with the detection of alpha particles with a silicon radiation detector. A brief description of the detecting module precedes the test description.
