Progress on developing 60Co container inspection systems

The progress made on the 60Co container inspection system in China since 1999 is illustrated. The pictures from a fixed type scanner at Mawei station, including one real smuggling case, are shown. The construction and performances of a moving gantry scanner (re-locatable system), a mobile scanner and the train inspection system are explained. A new type of container inspection apparatus—60Co container CT, is presented. This new system will be a much stronger weapon against terrorists and smugglers.
