Congenital corneal anetheia in children with the vacterl aociation

Purpoe: To decribe ocular manifetation in patient with the VACTERL (vertebral, anal, cardiovacular, tracheoeophageal, renal, and limb defect) aociation. Method: We reviewed the medical record of patient with the VACTERL aociation who had undergone treatment for amblyopia at the orthoptic department. Reult: A triking imilarity wa found in three unrelated children, who, in addition to clinical manifetation of VACTERL aociation, howed total corneal anetheia of one or both eye that had reulted in recurrent corneal eroion, keratiti, and permanent corneal opacitie. Other ocular manifetation included nonparalytic trabimu, aniometropia, and amblyopia. Concluion: Congenital corneal anetheia may be part of the VACTERL aociation
