Abstract
Purpoe:
To evaluate Wei ring and floater a indexe of poterior vitreou detachment.
Method:
Uing biomicrocopy and indirect ophthalmocopy, we examined the poterior vitreou in 200 conecutive eye with poterior vitreou detachment.
Reult:
In 200 eye with poterior vitreou detachment, biomicrocopy dicloed complete, incomplete, and no Wei ring in 102 (51%), 72 (36%), and 26 (13%) eye, repectively. Indirect ophthalmocopy howed the glial ring in 58 (56.9%) and 16 (22.2%) of the eye, with a complete (102 eye) and incomplete (72 eye) Wei ring, repectively. Although the incidence of floater wa ignificantly correlated with the preence of the glial ring (P = .0014), 60 (58.8%) and 49 (68.1%) of the eye with a complete (102 eye) and incomplete (72 eye) glial ring, repectively, had no floater.
Concluion:
>Detecting the detached poterior vitreou cortex by biomicrocopy i eential regardle of the preence of Wei ring or floater.
