Purpoe To illutrate uccinctly the variou tage of macular hole formation. Method We photodocumented the evolution of a full-thickne macular hole in a patient who refued urgery. Reult A 60-year-old woman, who had had difficulty reading for 3 month, wa initially examined with a tage 1B macular hole in her right eye that progreed to tage 2 over a 6-month period and then to tage 3, 2 year after initial examination. Concluion Thi cae demontrate vividly and uccinctly the development of a full-thickne macular hole from tage 1B to tage 3 and provide a unique opportunity to tudy carefully in a ingle eye the equential progreion of thi important retinal diorder.
