urgical removal of olitary hepatic metatai from choroidal melanoma

Purpoe To report urgical management of olitary hepatic metatai that occurred 25 year after an enucleation for uveal melanoma. Method A 16-year-old girl, diagnoed with choroidal melanoma and treated with enucleation, wa found 25 year later to have liver metatai affecting the entire left lobe of the liver. Reult he underwent partial hepatectomy with removal of the metatatic melanoma. Four year later, he wa found to have a maller circumcribed nodular melanoma in the remaining right lobe of the liver, alo treated with reection. he ha remained dieae-free for 2 year, with no evidence of ytemic dieae. Concluion urgical exciion may be a ueful treatment option in elected cae with olitary, circumcribed liver metatai from uveal melanoma.
