Abstract
Purpoe: To report a 34-year-old healthy man with an internal carotid artery diection who preented with an ipilateral branch retinal artery occluion.
Method: Cae report.
Reult: Ophthalmic examination of a young adult preenting with tranient monocular viual lo and a uperior naal field defect dicloed a left inferior branch retinal artery occluion. After fluorecein angiography, the patient had a vaovagal repone, and hi condition worened to a left central retinal artery occluion. Neurologic evaluation followed by carotid angiography dicloed a left internal carotid artery diection with total occluion of the internal carotid artery.
Concluion: The differential diagnoi of retinal arterial occluion in a young healthy adult without any notable ocular or medical hitory, including trauma, hould include pontaneou internal carotid artery diection.
