Latanoprot-aociated cytoid macular edema

Purpoe: To report two cae in which cytoid macular edema developed after initiation of topical latanoprot for glaucoma. Method: Cae report. One peudophakic eye in each of two patient treated with latanoprot for glaucoma developed decreaed viion and cytoid macular edema. Latanoprot wa dicontinued, and the cytoid macular edema wa treated with topical corticoteroid and ketorolac. Reult: After dicontinuing latanoprot and tarting corticoteroid and ketorolac, viual acuity improved from counting finger to 20/60 in one patient’ left eye and from 20/100 to 20/25 in the other patient’ right eye. The macular edema reolved in both eye. Concluion: Topical latanoprot may be aociated with cytoid macular edema; thi may be related to a protaglandin–like action.
