Branch retinal vein obtruction econdary to retinal arteriovenou communication

PURPOE: To document a branch retinal vein obtruction econdary to a congenital arteriovenou communication. METHOD: Cae report of a young patient with retinal arteriovenou communication. REULT: A 12-year-old girl had a grade 2 retinal arteriovenou communication in her right eye. he wa aymptomatic and wa ubequently followed up. Magnetic reonance imaging of the brain wa normal and dicloed no ign of Wyburn-Maon yndrome. Nine year later, he developed a branch retinal vein obtruction in the area of the arteriovenou communication. ix month later, the patient wa free of econdary complication of branch retinal vein obtruction; however, he i being followed up to detect any retinal or iri neovacularization. CONCLUION: Awarene of retinal vacular obtruction aociated with arteriovenou communication may help it timely recognition, a well a prompt treatment of potential complication, uch a retinal and iri neovacularization.
