Multifocal electroretinogram indicate viual field lo in acute zonal occult outer retinopathy

PURPOE: To report alteration of electrophyiologic tet, including the multifocal electroretinogram, in a cae of acute zonal occult outer retinopathy. METHOD: We recorded photopic, cotopic, and ingle-flah electroretinogram and a multifocal electroretinogram in a 47-year-old woman with acute zonal occult outer retinopathy in the right eye. REULT: Her viual acuity wa 20/20 in the right eye throughout the follow-up period. The electroretinogram indicated retinal impairment of the right eye, predominantly in the cone. The multifocal electroretinogram howed reduced repone correponding to the viual field defect of the tatic perimetry. CONCLUION: In acute zonal occult outer retinopathy, impairment of the retinal area reult in a viual field defect. The multifocal electroretinogram can be ueful in determining the location of the defect.
