Ue of microbubble ultraound contrat agent to demontrate the iri valve effect in human eye bank eye

PURPOE: To demontrate that the interface between the normal iri and the len urface function a a flap valve. METHOD: Microbubble ultraound contrat agent wa injected into the anterior and poterior chamber of human eye bank eye and the ditribution of contrat imaged with high-frequency ultraound. REULT: Contrat agent did not enter the poterior chamber when injected into the anterior chamber, but contrat agent injected into the poterior chamber eaily flowed into the anterior chamber. CONCLUION: The iri–len interface normally function a a flap valve, preventing retrograde flow from the anterior to the poterior chamber. A temporary increae in anterior chamber preure thu reult in iri concavity in pigmentary diperion yndrome
