Mitomycin C trabeculectomy in eye with cicatricial conjunctiva

PURPOE: To demontrate favorable outcome of mitomycin C–augmented trabeculectomy in eye with broad cicatricial conjunctiva created by previou urgerie. METHOD: Forty-ix eye (40 patient) with extenive conjunctival carring that had undergone mitomycin C trabeculectomy were reviewed retropectively. REULT: After a mean follow-up ± D of 13.7 ± 7.8 month (range, 6 to 36 month), intraocular preure wa well controlled, below or equal to 16 mm Hg and 21 mm Hg, repectively, in 33 (72%) and 44 (96%) of the 46 eye. In all eye, a functional filtering bleb wa preent during the follow-up period. CONCLUION: Mitomycin C trabeculectomy after diection of conjunctival car tiue may be ueful for treating refractory glaucoma
